Not every university has its own 329 acre dairy farm. The Feldmeier Dairy Processing Lab (part of the Department of Food, Bioprocessing and Nutrition Science) began research way back in the 1940s, selling the resulting ice cream at the cafeteria. In the 1970s, they began selling at the state fair. In time, the delicious treats produced by over 300 dairy cows became known as “Howling Cow.” We couldn't not commemorate this piece of university history with an original illustration.
